Like a hyper-efficient assembly line, its songs connect components of the band's hometown melodic death metal to elements of neo-thrash velocity, to metalcore's innate simplicity, to even - gasp! - sketchy nu-metal devices (see "Weapon of Vanity," "Distance") in order to construct a well-lubricated driving machine that's ever compact and economical.

Extreme enough to convince some of the genre's more suspicious fans of their authenticity to the cause, they've also excelled at flirting with its more mainstream sensibilities, and, like every release before it, 2005's Stabbing the Drama is no different. 2003's 'Figure Number Five' marked the band as one of the most successful former underground swedish Metal bands along with In Flames.Sweden's Soilwork have walked the heavy metal high-wire throughout their short but prolific career. The band's sound evolved with every release, eventually reaching a commercial feel that enabled the band to emerge from the underground. After this revolutionary release the band signed a deal with Nuclear Blast and released 'A Predator's Portrait', followed by 'Natural Born Chaos' in 2001. 'The Chainheart Machine' was recorded in 1999, and gained the band more respect as they were able to tour with bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Dark Tranquillity and Marduk.

Their debut, 'Steelbath Suicide' was eventually released in 1998. The band tried various labels to release their first full-length and eventually signed to Listenable (Aborted, Immolation). After recording their first ever demo tape, the band changed name and followed with yet another underground tape, 'In Dreams We Fall Into The Eternal Lake'. Profile Soilwork was originally formed in 1995 under the name Inferior Breed by Bjorn 'Speed' Strid (vocals, also a member of Darkane). Wibom had been a personal friend of the band for many years and previously toured with SOILWORK as a guitar tech and lighting designer.

Wibom replaced longtime bandmember Ola Flink, who amicably left the group to focus on other endeavors. Joining SOILWORK on tour in support of 'The Ride Majestic' is new bassist Markus Wibom, formerly of Helsingborg hardcore group HEARTS ALIVE.
